MyPDFtoExcel was born on a Sunday afternoon when our founder spent three hours manually copying bank transactions into a spreadsheet for tax season. There had to be a better way.
The 30 minutes we couldn't get back
It was February 2024. Tax season. Our founder — a part-time freelance designer and full-time overthinker — sat down to reconcile six months of transactions across two banks and a credit card.
Three hours later, with a spilled coffee and mild existential dread, the spreadsheet was done. It was accurate. It was complete. And it should have taken 10 seconds, not 180 minutes.
Existing tools either cost a fortune, required a plugin, demanded account access to your bank, or produced outputs that needed more cleanup than the original PDF. None of them just worked.
